A balanced retaining ring is a modified tapered section ring designed for high-speed applications where rotational imbalance becomes a limiting factor.
Standard tapered section rings, or circlips, have increased material at the lugs and a reduced cross section toward the gap, creating uneven mass distribution that can introduce vibration, noise, and added stress at higher rotational speeds.
Rotor Clip balanced rings address this by increasing and optimizing lug geometry to offset the material removed by the taper and gap. This creates a more evenly distributed ring mass, improving stability at high RPM while maintaining the same thrust load capability and installation method as standard circlips.
