Radial Retaining Rings (E-Clips, C-Clips, and More)
Have a low thrust load assembly where axial access is limited? Rotor Clip has the solution for you. Radial retaining rings, often referred to as e-clips, c-clips, poodle rings and more, might be the ideal fit. These external retaining rings offer a simple yet effective way to secure components when traditional axial installation is not an option. Engineered for side installation into a groove (radially), radial rings feature a functional design and come in a wide range of configurations, making them both versatile and reliable.
Key Features & Benefits
- Installed into a groove from the side (radially)
- Ideal for applications where axial access is limited
- Ideal for applications with light thrust loading
- Quick and simple installation and removal with applicators and dispensers due to the rings open ends
- Offered in a wide range of sizes, materials, and finishes
Radial Retaining Ring Installation & Removal
Radial retaining rings are commonly used in assemblies where other components prevent traditional installation methods. By machining a groove onto the shaft and installing the ring, the shoulder ensures component held securely in place. These ring types are not manufactured with lug holes like circlips and snap rings (tapered section and constant section), so applicators, dispensers, and tailored packaging options can help speed up and simplify the installation and removal process.
