Meet the Technical Experts 3: Inside Rotor Clip Czech and Its Local European Manufacturing Hub

Meet The Experts Rotor Clip Czech Republic

Founded in the United States, Rotor Clip has been a trusted manufacturer of retaining rings, wave springs, and hose clamps since 1957. In 2011, the company expanded its operations , establishing a fully integrated facility in Budyně nad Ohří, Czech Republic. The site brings key functions together under one roof and produces both standard and custom solutions for customers across Europe.

The Czech team supports a broad range of industries, including automotive and e-mobility, renewable energy, and industrial applications. By working closely with customers throughout the region, the team helps address complex technical challenges while supporting evolving market and application demands.

As part of our Meet the Expert series, we spoke with two members of the Czech team, Dave, CEO of Rotor Clip Czech Republic, and Pavel, Sales Manager CEE, to learn how Rotor Clip Czech combines local production, technical knowledge, and customer-focused support to help customers succeed.

Q: What makes Rotor Clip Czech a key part of Rotor Clip’s European operations?

Dave: The Czech facility is our hub for Rotor Clip’s European operations. We produce retaining rings, wave springs, and hose clamps locally, supported by our technical support teams and product experts. Our advanced manufacturing equipment gives us full control from start to finish, allowing us to serve the European market and beyond, helping customers get parts directly from the source with fast turnaround, consistent quality, and full traceability.

Q: How does the team approach developing custom solutions for customer applications?

Pavel: We start by understanding the application, not just the part itself. From there, we work with the customer’s engineering team to review design options, materials, and production methods that best fit the requirements. Being close to both engineering and production allows us to move quickly, provide samples, and make adjustments as projects progress.

Q: How does having manufacturing on-site in the Czech Republic benefit customers?

Dave: Having manufacturing close to our customers gives us flexibility and speed. We can support prototypes, smaller production runs, and design changes without long turnaround times. Our customers benefit from direct access to engineering and sales support in their time zone, helping move projects forward efficiently as requirements evolve.

Q: Which industries does Rotor Clip Czech support, and what trends are shaping customer demand?

Pavel: Automotive and e-mobility are key focus areas, along with renewable energy and industrial applications. We are seeing growing demand for components that handle higher speeds, increased loads, and longer service life, particularly as electrification continues to expand in the European market. Customers are also placing more emphasis on local sourcing and practical engineering support, which plays to the strengths of the Czech team.

Q: What specialized manufacturing capabilities are unique to the Czech facility?

Dave: We specialize in tapered and constant section rings, particularly large-diameter snap rings. The facility supports both high-volume production and smaller, custom runs, including prototyping. We use advanced processes such as double-disc grinding, which allows us to hold very tight tolerances on both stamped and wire-formed rings, even at larger diameters. This helps us maintain consistent performance and quality across all products.

Q: What stands out about the Czech team when working with customers day to day?

Pavel: The strength of the team is how closely we work together. Customers have direct access to people who understand both the technical and production sides, which helps simplify communication and build confidence throughout a project. That collaboration makes it easier to respond quickly and support customers using their local manufacturing and market insight to succeed in demanding applications.

Q: How does the Czech facility support both current production needs and future growth?

Dave: The facility is built to scale as customer demand changes. We regularly review capacity, equipment, and processes so we can adapt as new programs and volumes come online. Continued investment in machinery and training allows us to grow efficiently while keeping the same high standards, whether we are supporting long-term production or new projects.

Q: What can customers expect when working with the Czech office for the first time?

Pavel: Customers can expect clear communication and a practical approach from the start. We focus on understanding the application, setting realistic expectations, and guiding the process step by step. With our local presence, technical and commercial support are always close at hand, helping keep discussions efficient and aligned throughout the project.
